First homegrown salad and stir-fry of the year!

I probably could have made this salad several days ago, but alas, I procrastinated. Nonetheless, I just finished a most delicious salad made from the following greens in my garden:  Olympia spinach, Green Leaf Chard Perpetual spinach, red and green Romaine and Salad Bowl lettuce. Yum!

Unlike the salad, the broccoli stir-fry was horrible!  I decided I was going to try cooking the stems and leaves of the three plants I've already harvested.  Um, it was not good.  The stems were way too tough to eat and while the leaves were mostly tasty, some were quite bitter.  Oh well, live and learn!  Afterwards, I did some research and apparently you should stick to the smaller leaves and bigger stems for better flavor....oops!
